Happenings Events Awards

Each one of the Chatila Publishing House (CPH) publications has a newsroom, a space dedicated to keeping our dear readers posted with the latest happenings, events, and awards of direct relevance to the magazine and the corporation.

The first slice of news, 'Happenings,' is a scrumptious dip into what goes on within the corporate cadre. This encompasses new appointments, those who found their way up the corporate ladder, new products on the menu, etc. The second piece, branded 'Events,' tracks where Middle East Food (MEF) has been, i.e. where the road has taken team members (Time Out) and the events and expos that the magazine has participated in. Third to glimmer is the 'Awards' section; this covers the awards that MEF receives from other parties acknowledging its achievements and accomplishments.

Leading Hospitality Professionals from the Arab World Gather at IHF Amman

Jordan’s Events Unlimited and Lebanon’s Hospitality Services brought together exhibitors from various parts of the region at the 9th International Hospitality Forum (IHF), a trade show that caters to the hospitality and food service sectors in Jordan and the region. The forum, which attracts more than 3,000 visitors each year, was held at Amman Exhibitions Park on 27 – 29 October 2009.

Exhibitors from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, as well as the USA, the Netherlands, Germany and various parts of the world, gathered at the forum to showcase their latest products and services available to the hotel and restaurant industries, and to seek contracts within the vast opportunities presented by the new investments in the tourism and hospitality sectors. At least 15 new 5-star hotels are currently under development in Amman, Ajloun, Aqaba and at the shores of the Dead Sea.

On display at IHF was a wide range of products including food and beverage, franchise and management, software, kitchen and laundry equipment, hotel amenities, tabletop, furniture, furnishings and linen, hygiene products, educational institutions and hotels among others.

Middle East Food (MEF) magazine was present at this event where bonus copies of its September and October issues were distributed to visitors and exhibitors.
