The Middle East and North African region has the perfect recipe for a profitable food market; a large and growing population of over 450 million person, high income rates due to high oil prices and an increasing food production deficit. On the other hand, the region is currently experiencing an interesting expansion of the hospitality sector, which is directly related to developing tourism. The MENA region presents itself as the “land of opportunities” of the food industry, but it is far from being a terra incognita; especially that many countries are already well established which raises competition to its highest levels.


Middle East Food (MEF) magazine has had the challenge since 1985 to serve the Food, Beverage, Ingredients and Packaging sectors in the MENA region, shedding light on developments and innovations in the field of food and the prevailing trends aiming at restructuring this sector for the better. The magazine attempts to mobilize governments, institutions and individuals to collaborate their way in improving the food market, to design policies and develop institutions and regulatory frameworks in order to implement the strategies they set.


MEF will always bridge the gap between the highly technical countries and developing ones by being an information provider and a reference to all food issues of the Middle East and North Africa region through its comprehensive articles and up-to-date editorial content. The editorial team takes upon itself the responsibility of elevating the food industry by being the sole bilingual voice of the region, since MEF is published in English & Arabic.
